Mr. Coleman D. Barngrover, 75-year-old founder and president of CD Barngrover & Son Glass Co., died in Burlington hospital at 9:30 pm Tuesday. Death terminated a long illness.
Mr. Barngrover was a native of Downing, Mo., and was born Oct. 26, 1889, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Barngrover. He was married to Inez Butterworth at Newton on New years day, 1914.
She survives, as do a son, Richard E. Barngrover, associated with Mr. Barngrover in the glass company; three sisters, Mrs. Golda Whitney of Elyria, Ohio, and Mrs. Carl Sart and Mrs. Maime Cavender, both of Burlington, and three grandchildren.
Two sisters died previously.
Mr. Barngrover was a member of the First Methodist church and of the United Commercial Protective Assn. He belonged to Des Moines Lodge No. 1, AF and AM; Iowa Chapter No. 1, Royal Arch Masons; Zerubbabel Council No. 23, R&SM; St. Omer Commandery No. 15, Knights Templar; Kaaba Temple; and Knight Commander, Court of Honor.
Last rights will be held at Prugh’s Chapel.
A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 pm Thursday. A service to be conducted by Dr. G. Dempster Yinger, pastor of First Methodist church, will be at 2 pm Friday. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
