Donna Jean Bockenstedt, 61, of Burlington, died at 11 a.m. Monday, September 1, 2008, at Great River Medical Center Hospice House in West Burlington. Born May 21, 1947, in Quincy, Ill., she was the daughter of Donald and Ruby Butts Smith. On August 17, 2002, she married Dennis Bockenstedt in Burlington. Mrs. Bockenstedt was a sales associate for APAC and GNC for many years. She was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church. She was a tattoo artist. She enjoyed crochet work, painting and yard sales. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Lori Dowell of Burlington; one son, Troy Arch of Burlington; five grandchildren; her mother of Burlington; one sister, Patty Bentley of Burlington; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends. The funeral for Mrs. Bockenstedt will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Bruce DeRammelaere officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Memorials have been established for GRMC Hospice House and St. John's Catholic Church.
