Raymond Burnett Maupin, 92, of Keokuk, died at 3:25 PM Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the Lexington Square in Keokuk. Born January 20, 1921, in Ashland, MO, he was the son of William Dewey and Wilma Maupin. Raymond loved music and had taught himself how to play the guitar, violin, piano, and harmonica. He enjoyed traveling around Missouri and played music and sang for nursing homes, fairs, and churches. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Katherine "Kay" Maupin of Burlington; one niece, Sue (Tom) Birkenstock of Burlington; and two nephews, Bruce (Joyce) Maupin and Bill (Shawnna) Maupin, both of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister. Cremation has been entrusted to Thielen Crematory. There will be no visitation. A graveside committal service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 28, 2013 at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Weissenbuehler officiating.
