Kenneth G. Barnes, 81, 600 S. Garfield Ave., Burlington, died at 2:30 am August 7, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born March 12, 1909, in Schley, Iowa, he was the son of Michael and Veronica Novak Barnes. He married Kathryne Countryman in December 1969, in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was retired from JI Case Co. and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Patrick Barnes, Buffalo, NY; two step-sons; one step-daughter; six sisters, Inez Springer, Cresco, Iowa, Winifred Bily, Cresco, Deloris Burnni, Santa Maria, Calif., Georgina Kovarik, Santa Maria, Calif., Celesta Murphy, Bountiful, Utah, and Darlene Thompson, Santa Maria, Calif.; three brothers, Cyrus Barnes, Steilacoom, Wash., Russell Barnes, Cresco, and Mark Barnes, Clinton; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Although there will be no reception, friends may call at Prugh’s Wednesday and Thursday.
Graveside committal will be Thursday at 2 pm at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Fr. Bernie Weir officiating.
A memorial has been established.
