Edgar Lenard Marshall, 72, of Burlington and formerly of Farmington and Keokuk, died on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at 9:42 a.m. at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born March 21, 1935, in Burlington he was the son of Robert L. and Goldie McKibben Marshall. On March 21, 1957, he married Marjorie J. Smith in Burlington. Mr. Marshall was a forklift operator and material handler for Exide Battery, retiring in 1992. He attended Grimes School in Burlington. He was a member of The Salvation Army. He enjoyed helping neighbors and did odds and ends for Autumn Heights. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Carolyn L. Marshall of Burlington; two sons, James Edgar Marshall of Mediapolis and Robert Lloyd Marshall of Burlington; three grandchildren; one stepgrandchild and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one daughter. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Cremation has been accorded. Lunning Chapel is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established.
