Mable Irene Marsh, 73, of Burlington, died at 12:43 PM Saturday, January 14, 2017, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born November 4, 1943, in Waterloo, she was the daughter of Theodore and Gussie Green Griggs. On October 14, 1962, she married Richard Marsh in Cedar Rapids. He died July 1, 2009.
Mable worked in production at Champion Spark Plug/Federal Mogal. She was a part-time hair stylist in her home salon for many years.
She was of the Baptist faith; she attended Second Baptist Church in Ft. Madison. Mable enjoyed shopping and had spent many hours with her family. She also enjoyed spending time at Pzazz, particularly the casino, and collecting Norman Rockwell memorabilia, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Richard Marsh of Burlington; daughter, Juanita "Nita" (Kevin) Snider of Chicago, IL; one brother, Leo Griggs of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Taylor, Gabriel, and John; one brother-in-law; Eddie Marsh of Burlington; and three sister-in-laws Elizabeth Dixon of Ft. Madison, Rossetta Marsh of California; and Virginia of Washington State;and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles Griggs, Peter Griggs, and Donald Griggs; four sisters, Glendora Griggs, Leora Roberts, Marie Oden, and Quinzola Bryant; and one infant son, Robert Leonard Marsh.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM , Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Mrs. Marsh will be 10:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Orlando Dial officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.
A memorial has been established in her name.
