Richard LeRoy Marsh, 73, of Burlington, died at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at his home. Born July 22, 1935, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Ernest and Katherine Anderson Marsh, Sr. On October 14, 1962, he married Mable I. Green in Cedar Rapids. Mr. Marsh worked 40 years as a shipping clerk at Klein Manufacturing, worked in maintenance for the Burlington School System, and operated a grass cutting service and R. L. Cleaning Service. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Fort Madison. He enjoyed taking pictures, working on his computer, hunting, and watching TV westerns. Survivors include his wife; one son, Richard Marsh of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Nita Snider of Chicago; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Marsh of Fort Madison, and Eddie Marsh of Burlington; one sister, Elizabeth Dixon of Fort Madison; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers, and one foster brother. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington. The funeral for Mr. Marsh will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Harold Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for Second Baptist Church in Fort Madison.
