Obituary

Mrs. Edna P. Barber, 80, of 1013 Plum St., died Sunday at 5:45 pm at St. Joseph Hospital.
The daughter of Millard F. and Rachel A. Johnson Cook, she was born Oct. 16, 1892, in Burlington. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for 51 years.
She was a member of First Methodist Church, Rose Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, 25-year member of Wapello White Shrine, and a member of Friendship Circle of King’s Daughters, Auxiliary of Burlington Northern Railroad, Lazy Daisy Club, and Puritan Club.
She was married to Harrie J. Barber on Oct. 22, 1913, in Burlington. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. William Hunt Sr. of Mount Holly, N.J.; one son, Jacke E. Barber of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Albert Binder of Burlington. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Services will be Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles T. Rinkel Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at Burlington. The casket will be taken from the Reece Funeral home to the church Wednesday at 11 am and will be closed at the beginning of the service.
The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm.
