Emma Loretta Maass, 87, of Burlington died 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Bickford Cottage.
Born on February 12, 1927 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Clifford Oliver and Hilda Louise (Grone) Dickson. She married Richard Conrad Maass on November 17, 1945 in Burlington. He died April 25, 2011.
Mrs. Maass worked as a supervisor for Sylvania for over 12 years. She was a member of SS John & Paul Catholic Church and Eagles Aerie #150. She loved to play golf and was a member of the Women's League at Flint Hills Golf Course for many years. She enjoyed bowling and knitting dish rags and stocking hats.
She is survived by one sister; Naomi Mark of Burlington and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Maass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 8th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Rev. Hai Dinh will be the celebrant. The Des Moines County Resurrection Choir will provide music. Interment will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7th in Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends following the Christian Wake until 7:30 p.m.
A memorial has been established for SS John & Paul Catholic Church.
