Alice F. Lutenegger, 87, of Burlington died at 6:28 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born May 26, 1920, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Joseph and Alvina Sommerfeld Ruschill. On June 19, 1946, she married Walter J. Lutenegger. He died August 18, 1999. Mrs. Lutenegger worked at Sylvania Electric and Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. She was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church and Mainliners. She enjoyed flowers, music and traveling. Survivors include one son, Donald Lutenegger of Iowa City; two grandsons; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; great-great-nieces; and great-great-nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The body of Mrs. Lutenegger will be cremated following the visitation. The funeral for Mrs. Lutenegger will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Patrick J. Hilgendorf officiating. A memorial has been established for American Cancer Society.
