Nellie A. "Ann" John, 80, of West Burlington, died at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Burlington Care Center. Born July 22, 1930, in Pulaski, she was the daughter of Orville and Viva Rominger Billhymer. On February 8, 1952, she married Lowell D. John in Burlington. Mrs. John was a homemaker, and worked at Benner Tea Co. and Sylvania. She attended Center Grade School and Pulaski High School, and graduated from Bloomfield High School. She was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church. She was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed making clothes for herself and her family. Survivors include her husband; one son, Philip John of Burlington; one grandson; one sister, Karen Kline of Pulaski; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter at birth, her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends. The funeral for Mrs. John will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Jackie Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
