Gladys Pauline Lowary, 95, of Burlington, died at 12:20 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Danville Care Center in Danville. Born August 29, 1912, in Stillwell, Ill., she was the daughter of Joseph and Bessie Jackson Crear. On April 9, 1931, she married Paul Theodore Lowary in Carthage, Ill. He died July 26, 1978. Mrs. Lowary was a homemaker. She was Christian and enjoyed bingo, pinochle and bunco. Survivors include one son, E. Keith Lowary of Stratford; one daughter, Loretta Sue Parrish of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lilly Irene Johnson of Ottawa, Ill.; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, one son, her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral for Mrs. Lowary will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Jackie Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
