Clifford Ballard, 66, formerly of Burlington, Iowa died at 1 am Saturday, Sept. 6, at his home here following an extended illness.
Born July 7, 1909, in Unionville, Mo., he was the son of Benjamin and Rebecca Cook Ballard. Following the death of his first wife, Florence Mary, he married Lucille McMurren Ayotte June 4, 1966, in Burlington, Iowa. Since 1966 he was owner and operator of Rockwood Court Motel, Berryville.
Surviving: the wife; three sons, Charles, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Roger, Morgan City, La., Clarence; three daughters, Mrs. Melvin(Shirley) Berges, Mrs. Richard (Pat) Fellows and Ann Lohman, all of Burlington, Iowa; a stepson, Thomas McMurren, Davenport, Iowa; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Dale(Barbara) Hemmie, Golden, Colo., and Mrs. Tom(Sharon) Sorensen, Burlington, Iowa; 22 grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank, Davenport, Iowa, and RB, Unionville; three sisters, Mrs. Lovie Thompson, Canoga Park, Calif., and Mrs. Ines Ennis, Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral: 10:30 am Tuesday at Prugh’s Chapel, Burlington, Iowa; Rev. Laurence Garrett; Aspen Grove Cemetery.
