Dorothy Marie Ryder, 83, formerly of Burlington, Iowa, died at Hospice of the Valley on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 7:45 p.m.
Born on March 24, 1927 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Dennis Henry and Ethel Marie Meyer Chriss.
She married Joseph R. Welch. He died on August 4, 1964. She married Fred Long. He died in January of 1980. She married Donald Ryder. He died in April 21, 2000.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and her family. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Dennis Raymond Patrick (Inge) Welch of Chandler, Arizona; 3 grandchildren; 3 Great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley (James) Almendinger of Janesville, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; one daughter, Carolyn; and two sisters, Betty Kinnison and Phyllis Byers.
Graveside Memorial Services for Dorothy Marie Ryder will be held at a later time and date to be announced. A memorial has been established for Kidney Dialysis in Burlington, Iowa.
