Isabel Ann Lippert, 90, of Burlington, died at Bickford Cottage, on Saturday morning, December 3, 2011.
Born on May 27, 1921, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of James Everett and Louise Harper Thomas. She married Walter Lippert on August 27, 1950, in Burlington, Iowa. He died on August 11, 2009.
Isabel graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1938. She worked at Shaefer Pen Company, the Burlington Shops and the Burlington Community School System. She loved needlework, cross stitching and knitting and spending time with her family. She was also an avid reader. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Gayl) Lippert of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Charles Lippert of Roeland Park, Kansas; three grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Anna Clelland and Kyle Johnson; eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty McPherson of Burlington and one brother-in-law, Donald Lippert of Burlington; several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Edith Thomas, and one brother, James Thomas.
Funeral services for Isabel Ann Lippert will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Burlington, Iowa. The Rev. Deb Kinney will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa, at 2:00 p.m.
Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 3:30 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Prugh's Chapel.
Memorials have been established for First Presbyterian Church and Great River Hospice.
