Mrs. Mildred "Millie" I. Lipper, 84, of Burlington died at 5:02 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born October 5, 1931 in Kahoka, Missouri, she was the daughter of Johnnie and Mary (Roberts) Koeber. On November 10, 1951 she married Delbert Eugene Lipper in Kahoka. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1993.
Mrs. Lipper was a 1949 graduate of Kahoka High School. She worked at Sylvania, Antenna Craft, Winegard and National Research Bureau, retiring in 1993
Mrs. Lipper was a member of Sunnyside Avenue Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens Center where she had served as a past board member. She enjoyed Bingo, dancing, needlepoint, embroidery, and slot machines. She loved traveling and camping and she especially enjoyed time with her family and grandbabies.
Survivors include two sons, Steven (Naomi) Lipper of New London and Daniel (Meri) Lipper of Burlington; one daughter, Denise (Jim) O'Neill of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, Mike Lipper, Jenny Lipper, Jacob Lipper, Logan Lipper, Morgan Lipper, Nicholas O'Neill and Christopher O'Neill; eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Pauline Denning of Alexandria, Missouri, Doris Riggs of Hannibal, Missouri, Connie Dailey of Burlington and Karen Hampsmire of Keokuk; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Richard "Mac" McPherson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Friends may call after 8 a.m. Saturday, March 19th, at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The funeral service for Mrs. Lipper will follow the family visitation, starting at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Dodds officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Great River Hospice House or Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Breast Cancer).
