Dorothy May Lindoff, 82, of Burlington, died at 8:55 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born July 3, 1927, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Frank and Hazel Johnson Sommerfeld. On June 17, 1960, she married Tom Lindoff in Burlington. Mrs. Lindoff was a homemaker, and worked for 46 years at Burlington Basket Factory, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was a member of Geodeabagoes, Travelin Tigers, and Winnecorns camping clubs, and Golden Oldies. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and gardening. Survivors include her husband; one brother, Paul Sommerfeld of Winfield; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Lindoff will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Memorials have been established for Aicardi Syndrome Foundation Great River Hospice House and Golden Oldies.
