Kathryn Elizabeth Balbort, 77, 2501 Mount Pleasant St., died at 8:15 p, Saturday, Jan. 30, 1993 at Burlington Medical Center.
Born April 25, 1915, in Keokuk, she was the daughter of Edward G. and Ruth D. Crowley Walsh. On Feb. 15, 1946, she married Ralph C. Balbort in Keokuk. He died June 12, 1980.
Mrs. Balbort was a housewife and worked in St. Paul’s School cafeteria. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church and the St. Paul’s Catholic ChurchAltar and Rosary Society and Women’s Guild.
Survivors include a son, Timothy R. Balbort of Burlington; three nieces and four nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters.
A wake service will be at 7 pm Tuesday in Prugh’s Chapel. Following the wake service, the family will receive friends until 8:30 pm.
The funeral service for Mrs. Balbort will be at 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Mulligan officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
