Geraldine Ruth Ballard, 82, of Burlington, died at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa, on Friday morning, January 11, 2013.
Born on April 26, 1930 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Ralph S. and Peggy Drain.
Geraldine was a homemaker and worked at the Tama Building for 11 years.
She loved solving crossword puzzles, watching TV Land, flower gardening and family gatherings. She was quick witted with a good personality. She was a member of Harrsion Avenue Methodist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Diane (David) Bysinger of Moline, Illinois, Mary (Glen) Christner of Bartow, Florida, Damaris Jenkins and Lisa Macans, both of Burlington, Iowa; two sons, David Britton of Davenport, Iowa and Lyle (Margo) Ballard of Burlington, Iowa; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Dennis and Danny Britton.
Memorial services for Geraldine Ruth Ballard will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Prugh’s Chapel. Pastor JudyAnn Morse will officiate. Interment of ashes will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. Following the visitation, cremation will be accorded.
