Mrs. Sally Lucille Barker, 76, a former Burlington resident, died Monday, April 2, at the Hawker Nursing Home, West Liberty.
Mrs. Barker, who lived in West Branch, was born Dec. 25, 1896, in Canto, Mo., the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Joseph Penn. She married Lloyd L. Barker in Shambaugh, Ia., on June 12, 1918. He preceded her in death in 1968.
She was a member of the West Branch Methodist church and its Ruth Circle and of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Auxiliary. She taught school in Page County for five years.
She is survived by two sons, Gilbert of West Branch and Kenneth of Burlington; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Doyle, Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Steckel, Burlington; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral; 2 pm Wednesday, West Branch United Methodist Church, Rev. Maz Paige; the body will be brought back to Sheagren Funeral Home. Committal services will be at 10 am Thursday at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
