Frank Adelbert Lemon, 82, of Burlington, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 1999, at the Klein Unit of Burlington Medical Center. Born Dec. 15, 1916, in Winfield, he was the son of William R. and Rose Reynolds Lemon. On June 24, 1939, he married Linnea M. Sheagren in Winfield. Mr. Lemon worked in sales for Firestone, Sears, and Wesern Auto. He operated V & S Hardware Store, later known as True Value Hardware Store on Jefferson Street. He was of the Protestant faith. He was active in Boy Scouts of America, and Class of 1935 reunions. He volunteered at Apple Trees Museum and Phelps House for the Des Moines County Historical Society. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was a long-time resident of Burlington. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Philip Lemon of Sarasota, Fla., David Lemon of Eden Prairie, Minn., Robert Lemon of Burlington, and Steven Lemon of Hazel Green, Wis.; one daughter, Nancy Siperly of Sarasota; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, nieces and nephews. There will be no formal visitation. The body of Mr. Lemon has been cremated. A memorial service for Mr. Lemon will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Beaty officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at First Methodist Church. Memorials have been established for Steamboat Senior Citizens Center, National Parkinson Foundation, and Des Moines County Historical Society.
