John Frederick Larmay, 71, of Burlington, formerly of Yuma, Ariz., died at 4:50 pm Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.
Born Jan. 17, 1931, in Milwaukee, he was the son of John B. and Anna H. Antson Larmay. On Nove. 10, 2001, he married Carolyn Trueper in Hollywood, FL.
Mr. Larmay was a cement mason finisher.
He attended Heritage Baptist Church. He enjoyed working around the home and building things. He also enjoyed board games. He was a Korean War Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kimberly Cipolettl of Burlington, Dee Dee Sferra of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Christy Elseikh of Hollywood; two sons, Charles Freland of Hollywood and Mark Freland of Hollywood of Palm Coast, FL.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his mother of Butler, Wis.; and one sister, Fay Mackensie of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will begin after 8 am Tuesday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm
The funeral for Mr. Larmay will be at 10:30 am Wednesday at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Brad Cranston officiating. Burial with military rites by VFW Posts 10102 and 9162, American Legion Post 52 and Hamilton Walters Marine Corps League will be at 10:30 am Thursday in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Heritage Baptist.
