Ann K. Lanning, 90, of Burlington, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born July 9, 1921, in Centerville, she was the daughter of John Ivan and Caroline Kozeliski Kombol. On July 30, 1950, she married Clyde C. Lanning in Nashua. He died Oct. 30, 1994. Mrs. Lanning worked 19 years as a receptionist for Dr. Huston. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1940. She was a 50-plus year member of Parkside First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, being outdoors, and going out to eat. Survivors include one niece, Sally Peddle of Highland Park, Ill.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and four sisters. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington, where family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday. The funeral for Mrs. Lunning will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, with the Revs. Tyrone Henderson and Jay Clover officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A time of food and fellowship will be at Parkside First Baptist Church following burial. A memorial has been established the Parkside First Baptist Church.
