Joe Lambert, 42, of Burlington, died at 12:35 PM Saturday, January 5, 2013, at his home. Born July 11, 1970, in Burlington, he was the son of Richard Dean and Cheryl Ann Bloomer Lambert. Joe was a material coordinator for American Ordnance for 16 years. He was a 1988 graduate of Burlington High School. He was a U.S. Marines Corps Veteran from 1988 until 1992, serving in Desert Storm. He was a member of Smoking Gun Hunting Club, Ducks Unlimited, and Pheasants Forever. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and time on the river with family and friends.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Charlotte Leasure of Burlington; one daughter, Haley Lambert of Nevada, IA; his parents, Dick and Cheryl Lambert of Burlington; his maternal grandfather, Allen Bloomer of Hot Springs, AK; two sisters, Amy (Byron) Carlson of Bettendorf, and Darcy (Todd) Stoecker of New London; two nephews, Tyler Carlson and Nick Johnson; one niece, Rylee Carlson; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 4:30 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mr. Lambert will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Langner officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Hamilton-Walters Marine Corp League #616 Honor Guard. A time of food and fellowship will be held the Eagle's Club following the service. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. Cremation will be entrusted to Thielen Crematory following the service. A memorial has been established. "THAT'S HOW WE ROLL!"
