Mrs. Phoebe Madaline Lamb, 89, of Burlington and formerly of Sperry died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Danville Care Center.
Born October 26, 1923 in Montrose, she was the daughter of Carroll and Madaline Alton Buck. On December 9, 1949 she married Lawrence Clifford Lamb in Burlington. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2005.
Mrs. Lamb was a 1942 graduate of Keokuk High School. She worked in production at Tabor-Burns, at the paper mill and had previously worked as a secretary at Sylvania. She was a former member of Latty United Church of Christ where she was also active in the Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, crossword puzzles, dancing and music.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Lee (Diane) Lamb of Pleasant Hills, Missouri; two daughters, Linda (Dr. Don) McCabe and Debra (Mike) Anderson both of Burlington; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Edwin (Gloria) Buck of Chicago and Theodore (Cindy) Buck of Carrollton, Texas and one sister, Dorothy Van Keirsbulck of Brookings, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Mary Pauline McGrew and brother, William Buck.
Memorials have been established for Danville Care Center and Great River Hospice.
