Larry Dean Baker, 68, of Burlington, died at 11:45 PM Monday, November 7, 2016, at the Great River Hospice House.
Born October 7, 1948, in Edina, MO, he was the son of Lorraine H. and Naomi L. Luke Baker. In 1969, he married Judy DeBolt in Burlington. They later divorced.
Larry started out working for various companies in Keokuk, then worked at the Ordnance Plant for ten years, and later he worked for the Walmart Warehouse in Mt. Pleasant for 22 years.
He was a 1967 graduate of Burlington High School.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, baking, making wine; he also enjoyed yard work, helping his neighbors, watching the weather channel and sitting outside on his front porch. He was an Aladdin lamp and antique collector.
Survivors include one son, Shawn (Jessica) Baker of Burlington; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold (Shirley) Baker of Ft. Madison, Richard (Jeannie) Baker of Augusta, twin brother, Lyman (June) Baker of Doniphan, MO; twin sisters, Janice Baker of Lomax, Janet (Mike) Levins of West Burlington; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert; and one sister, Elizabeth Hirte.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2016 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mr. Baker will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
