Obituary
George A. Kulp, 79, of Burlington, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Burlington Care Center. Born November 25, 1926, in St. Louis, he was the son of William and Margaret Elizabeth Lamb Kulp. On August 22, 1959, he married Mary A. Anderson in Burlington. Mr. Kulp worked for Burlington Dental Laboratory, Sylvania Electric Co. and Mile High Heating and Air Conditioning in Denver. After returning to Burlington, he worked at Georgia Pacific and The Typewriter Shop before retiring in 1992. He was a 1949 graduate of Burlington High School. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He enjoyed movies, collecting Gene Autry memorabilia, traveling, cats and eating out. His biggest enjoyment was meeting Gene Autry in person. Survivors include his wife; one sister, Jean Lewis of West Burlington; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Messiah Lutheran Church. The funeral for Mr. Kulp will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Margaret Casper officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Lunning Chapel is in charge of arrangements
