Stacey Ann Krekel, 56, of Houston, TX, died at 1:15 PM Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center in Houston.
Born October 21, 1955, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of William Frank and Carolee Ann Platt Krekel.
Stacey worked in Interior Design with Furniture Brands.
She was a 1977 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa.
She enjoyed needle work, reading, interactively following the life paths of family and relatives and her golden lab, Sammie.
Survivors include her parents of Burlington; two brothers, William W. (Heidi) Krekel of Springfield, IL, James J. (Isabel) Krekel of Burlington; one sister, Kelley S. (Roger B.) Cooper of Burlington; nine nieces and nephews, one great niece and one great nephew; and her longtime companion Douglas Boyko of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
As per Stacey's request cremation has been accorded.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church where the family will receive friends.
The memorial service for Stacey will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Erick E. Swanson officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Trinity Hall following the inurnment.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church
