Howard Frank Krasuski, 83, of Burlington, died at 8:10 AM Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born November 17, 1929, in Burlington, he was the son of Carl A. and Pauline F. Swozil Krasuski. On March 2, 1973, he married Dorothy M. Gawthrop in Burlington. Howard worked as a Machinist and Tool Maker at Murray Iron Works for 43 years. He was a 1947 graduate of Burlington High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Blue Grass Association. He loved hunting and fishing, especially duck hunting. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting, bird watching, squirrel hunting, and Bluegrass festivals. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, two step-sons, Tim (Casey) Gawthrop of Fayetteville, AR, and Mike (Patty) Gawthrop of Burlington; seven step-grandchildren, Nicholas Gawthrop, Mike Gawthrop Jr., Addison Gawthrop, Laura Talbott, Amanda Talbott, Ben Talbott, and Rachel Harper; seven step-great-grandchildren, one brother, Albert Krasuski of West Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Carl, one sister-in-law Ellen Krasuski, one sister Laura Russell and two step-granddaughters. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mr. Krasuski will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 11, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth R. Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.
