Louise Kolkebeck, 84, of Mediapolis, died at Prairie Ridge Care & Rehab in Mediapolis, Iowa, on Sunday May 30, 2010, at 2:44 a.m. Ms. Kolkebeck was born on August 9, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Rev. Alfred and Josephine Kolkebeck. Louise's father passed away when she was very young. Her mother raised her in Burlington, Iowa, with the help of other family members. After Josephine passed away, Louise lived in the Burlington area until moving to Mediapolis in 2001. Louise enjoyed attending dances, drives in the country, teddy bears, and visiting with family and friends. She was affiliated with Christ Episcopal Church. She is survived by cousins Roger Lindeen & Family, Galesburg, IL, Willie & Norma Venvertlh & Family, Quincy, IL, John & Vivian Dickerman & Family, Mendon, IL, Edward & Becky Schroeder & Family, Mendon, IL, Gerald & Marilyn Miller & Family, Mendon, IL, and Don & LaVerne Mealiff & Family, Mendon, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services for Louise Kolkebeck will be held at Prugh's Chapel on Friday, June 4, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor JudyAnn Morse will officiate. Inerment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. A memorial has been established for Prairie Ridge Care & Rehab.
