George Joseph Koehler, 81, of Burlington, died at 2:46 a.m. Monday, June 7, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center. Born July 11, 1917, in Burlington, he was the son of Edward J. and Anna Krestin Koehler. He married Irma L. Winegard on June 27, 1942, in Burlington. Mr. Koehler worked in the warehouse at Winegard Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1982. He was of the Catholic faith, and a former member of Ducks Unlimited. Survivors include his wife; one son, Thomas G. Koehler of Burlington; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Anna Bessine and Mary Phillips, both of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, and two brothers. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Koehler will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Stouvenel officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
