Mrs. Loretta Blanche Rodahaver, 97, of Gladstone, Illinois, died Friday, September 18, 2015, at the Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab Center, Stronghurst, Illinois.
Born January 8, 1918 in Polk County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Dudley Francis and Nellie (Peterson) Spooner. On September 6, 1936 she married Woodrow W. "Hack" Thomas in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1980. She married Delbert Putnam on June 10, 1982 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He also preceded her in death on May 1, 1986. She married Horace J. Rodahaver on September 14, 1993 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua and he also preceded her in death in November of 1998.
Mrs. Rodahaver was a 1935 graduate of White Oak High School in Cambridge, Iowa. She worked at Sylvania for 18 years and retired from Burlington Medical Center after 10 years of service.
Mrs. Rodahaver was a member of Gladstone United Methodist Church, and the Eagles, Moose and V.F.W. Auxiliaries. She participated at the Steamboat Senior Center as the lunchtime master of ceremonies and primary joke teller.
Survivors include one son, David L. (Ruthann) Thomas of Seneca, South Carolina; one daughter, Linda (Ken) Ross of Boulder, Colorado; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her three husbands, parents, one daughter Patricia, one son Joseph, and one brother Albert.
The funeral service for Mrs. Rodahaver will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 22nd at Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Jon E. Warren will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
