Eugene Ralph Knopp, 47, 314 West Burlington Avenue, West Burlington, was found dead in his pickup truck parked near Meyer's Marina north of Burlington at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 29. Apparent cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning, authorities said. County medical examiner Than Myint ordered an autopsy but results were not available at noon Wednesday. Authorities said a vacuum cleaner hose was found connected between the exhaust pipe and the truck cab.Mr. Knopp was born August 25, 1927, at Burlington, the son of Carl and Lila Woodyard Knopp. He married Catherine Bollinger August 20, 1965, at Hayward, Calif. He was a mechanic at Archer Motor Co., of the Baptist faith, and an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Surviving: The wife; two sons, Brian and Wayne, both of Burlington; his mother, Mrs. Lila Hernandiz, Hayward, Calif.; two brothers, Albert and Donald, both of Hayward, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Grace Kerr, Danville; a stepson, Robert Barnes Jr., Camp Casey, Korea; three stepdaughters, Connie Henry and Pam Webb of Burlington, and Becky Barnes of Bushnell, Ill. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Friday at Prugh's chapel; Rev. Elwood Anderson; Aspen Grove cemetery.
