Mrs. Eva Adina Knopp, 98, of Burlington died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Great River Medical Center - Klein Center.
Born March 12, 1917 south of Pleasant Grove in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Lester and Inez (Stigge) Dietsch. On January 1, 1939 she married Carl Knopp in New London. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1985.
Mrs. Knopp was a 1935 graduate of Yarmouth High School. She worked as a clerk at Sears, Roebuck and Co. in the 1950s and sold real estate for Prall Real Estate until the age of 70.
Mrs. Knopp was a member of First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ and UCT (Unified Commercial Travelers). She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, canning, and sharing her opinion.
Survivors include her three daughters, Loretta Black of Davenport, Diane (Kenneth) Blevins of Edelstein, Illinois and Barbara (Peter) Johnson of Burlington; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Erma Reynolds of Oneida, Illinois and Carol Staff of New London.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Alvah Dietsch and Leland Dietsch; and one sister, Iva Owen.
Friends may call after 8 a.m. Friday, May 22nd, at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m.
The funeral service for Mrs. Knopp will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 22nd, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. David Plooster officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Klein's Activity Fund.
