Sandra K. Martinez, 63, of Bartonville, passed away at 5:12 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born September 10, 1946, in Burlington, Iowa, to Jim and Mary Knoll. She married Carlos P. Martinez on March 14, 1970, in Burlington, Iowa. He survives. Also surviv- ing are three sons, Paul (Alex) Martinez of Greenville, S.C., Luis (Sara) Martinez of Peoria, Ill., and Bernardo Martinez of Bartonville, Ill.; four grandchildren, Jesse, Alexander, Gabriel, and Sean. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jim and Mary Knoll. Sandra was a registered CNA at Bel-Wood Nursing Home, working for many years, retiring in September of 2006. Sandra was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. She was a longtime member of Berea Baptist Church in Bartonville. Sandra was the heart of the Martinez household, and will be forever missed. A graveside ceremony was held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010, at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
