Virginia Beatrice Kluska, 92, of Knox, IN, formerly of Burlington, IA, died at 3:50 PM Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Knox. Born March 12, 1921, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Frank E. and Gladys E. Grupe Wood. On April 10, 1946, she married Frank Kluska in Burlington. He died August 2, 1969. She graduated from Burlington High School. Virginia served in WW II with the Women's Army Corp in the Pacific Theatre, New Guinea and Australia. Virginia was a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW. She was a seamstress, a quilter and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include two daughters, Janeane E. (Thomas) Luby of Knox, IN, and Sherry (Alan) Sansom of Dunlap, IL; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Marilu E. Kuhl of North Liberty, IA; and 17 nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one nephew, one granddaughter, Joy Merz, one brother, Robert Wood, and one son, Frank C. Kluska. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mrs. Kluska will be 1:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Orthel officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.
