Donald Warren Klein, 88, of Burlington, died at 5:45 PM Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the Sharon Willow South in Peoria IL.
Born September 8, 1928, in Burlington, he was the son of William O. and Vera Eva Court Klein. In 1952, he married Dorothy Goble in Burlington. She died February 27, 2004.
Donald worked as a foreman in the chemical department for Bonewitz for 33 years.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War from September 10, 1952 until June 30, 1954.
He was a member of VFW Post 9162 and Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard post 10102. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and being with friends and family.
Survivors include one son, Steven D. Klein of West Burlington; one grandson, Kevin Klein of Burlington; one brother, James Klein of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Klein.
Visitation will be from noon until 5:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Prugh's Chapel.
The funeral service for Mr. Klein will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Prugh's Chapel with Pastor Paul Hermansen officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be at Aspen Grove cemetery following the funeral service. A time of food and fellowship will be held at The Moose Club following the burial
