Randolph "Randy" Jerome Kitsch, 60, of Burlington, died at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. Randy was born on November 4, 1948, in Devils Lake, North Dakota, the son of John Thomas and Bernadette Manning Kitsch. He married LeDonna Bjornson on June 23, 1967, in Devils Lake, North Dakota. He sold heavy equipment for Big River Equipment and was a Sales Associate at Deery Bros. He enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, the Diewold Cabin "Round Table" and fishing on Devils Lake. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Ducks Unlimited, Mississippi Valley Callers Association, and organized the Big River Fishing Tournament for 27 years. He was affectionately known as "The King". He is survived by his wife, LeDonna; three daughters, Cammie (Jeff) Hartman of Muscatine, Iowa, Tracy Molander of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Fonda (J.T.) Meuller of Nosara, Costa Rica; his mother, Bernadette Kitsch of Webster, North Dakota; one sister, Lana Hood of Des Moines, Iowa; three brothers, Jack Kitsch of Webster, North Dakota, Doug (Elizabeth) Kitsch of Titusville, Florida, and Kelly (Connie) Kitsch of Jamestown, North Dakota; five grandchildren, Maggie & Max Molander, Alexis & Chloe Hartman, and Jaye Meuller; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Kitsch, and one brother, Kimothy Vaughn Kitsch. Friends may call at Prugh's Chapel on Saturday, March 28, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 and after 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends until 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Monday, March 30, at 10:00 a.m. Father Bruce DeRammelaere will officiate. Music will be provided by the Des Moines Co. Resurrection Choir. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Great River Hospice House and Mississippi Valley Callers Association.
