Marion H. Bailey, 83, of Burlington Medical Center, Klein Unit, formerly of 2219 Baumberger St., Burlington, died at 9:10 am, Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Oct. 26, 1913, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Frank B. and Louise K. Schock Smith. On April 17, 1938, she married Howard D. Bailey in Cedar Rapids. He died Dec 21, 1973.
Mrs. Bailey was a secretary at Bennett Tires and Battery in Waterloo for five years. She attended Burlington High School and Burlington College of Commerce.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Bailey of Burlington, and Bill Bailey of Glenwood, Minn.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Hiserot of Cedar rapids; one niece; and several nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p, Monday in Lunning Chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Bailey will be 2 pm Monday in Lunning Chapel with the Rev. David Mixon officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the American Lung Association.
