Alvin O. Kinney, Jr., 87, of Burlington, died Sunday, October 19, 2008, at Danville Care Center. Born April 22, 1921, in Glasgow, Iowa, he was the son of Alvin O. Sr. and Myrtle J. Young Kinney. On February 24, 1940, he married Juanita E. Cornwell. Mr. Kinney was the owner and operator of Kinney Construction Company, retiring in 1982. He also was the founder and owner of Timberline estates and Echo Valley Mobile Home courts. He was a WW II Army Veteran, serving in the Pacific. Mr. Kinney was a member of the V.F.W. and former member of the Moose and LICA. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home and taking walks with his dogs. Survivors include his wife, Juanita E. Kinney of West Burlington; one daughter, Karla K. Carr of Libertyville, Iowa; one son, Randall L. Kinney of West Burlington; one daughter-in-law, M. Irene Kinney of West Burlington; one son-in-law, Joseph L. Sullivan of West Burlington; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Darrell Kinney of Mt. Pleasant, Wayne Kinney of Cedar Rapids, Wendell Kinney of Mt. Pleasant, and Larry Kinney of Minneapolis; and one sister, Lois Six of Indianola. Besides his parents; one son, Gary D. Kinney; one daughter, Janice G. Sullivan; one sister, Erma Mabus; and daughter- in-law, Debi S. Kinney, preceded him in death.
