Obituary
Juanita E. Kinney, 89, of West Burlington, died at 7:10 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Prairie Ridge Care and Rehab Center in Mediapolis. Born April 3, 1921, in Winfield, she was the daughter of Bert and Ora Lockhart Cornwell. On February 24, 1940, she married Alvin O. Kinney, Jr., in Memhis, MO. He died October 19, 2008. Mrs. Kinney was a homemaker, and worked as an office manager for Kinney Construction, Timberline Estates, and Echo Valley Mobile Home Parks. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1939. She was a member of Middletown Presbyterian Church, and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 2561 in Mount Pleasant. She enjoyed traveling in the family camper, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. Survivors include one son, Randall Kinney of West Burlington; one daughter, Karla Carr of Libertyville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, her parents, three sisters, and four brothers. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Kinney will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Deb Kinney officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for the Debi Kinney Scholarship Fund at Southeastern Community College
