Florence A. King, 89, of Burlington, died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at Great River Medical Center-Klein Unit in Burlington. Born December 8, 1919 in Carlinville, Ill., she was the daughter of John and Ethel Lyons Rushford. On February 5, 1940, she married Frank J. King in Palmyra, MO. He died May 21, 1989. Mrs. King retired from Crescent Electric. She worked on Line 1 at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown during World War II. She enjoyed watching soaps. Survivors include two sons, Max King of Burlington, and John King of Corning; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, her parents, two sisters, one her twin, and an infant brother. No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated. The graveside memorial service for Mrs. King will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice. Lunning Chapel in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
