Irene "Peg" E. Kelley, 87, of Danville, formerly of Burlington, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Danville Care Center in Danville. Born March 29, 1912, in Hedrick, she was the daughter of Charles D. and Anna Korfage Miller. On June 18, 1931, she married Lee B. Kelley in Fairfield. He died December 7, 1982. Mrs. Kelley was a 1928 graduate of Batavia High School in Batavia, and was a homemaker. She was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church in Burlington, member and past matron of the Burlington Chapter No. 545 Order of Eastern Star, and White Shrine. As a student, she was an all-star guard on the Batavia High School girls basketball team. Survivors include two daughters, M. Joyce Wilke of Middletown, and Joan Ryals of Burlington; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Miller of Batavia, and Kenneth Miller of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one great-grandson. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Sunday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends following a 7 p.m. Order of Eastern Star service until 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Kelley will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Benjamin officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. A memorial has been established.
