Mrs. Ruth S. Joy, 86, of 1920 Osborn, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in Klein unit of Burlington Medical Center. Born July 14, 1893, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Schick Strauss. She married Victor Ryden Sept. 20, 1913 in Burlington; he died April 5, 1934. She married Fred Joy, Jan. 27, 1941, in Macon, Mo.; he died April 23, 1960. She was a retired employee of Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, and member of First United Methodist church. Survivine: Several nieces and nephews. Graveside service 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aspen Grove cemetery, Rev. Robert Gildner.
