MarQuis "Bubba" Jones, 27, of Burlington, died at 2:38 PM Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born May 23, 1990, in Burlington, he was the son of Phillip Jones and Altovese Williams.
Bubba worked at Shearers in production and mixing and also at Gator's Grill bussing tables and cooking
He graduated from Burlington High School and attended Kirkwood Community College.
He was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. Bubba played a variety of sports growing up including football, basketball, and track. He enjoyed music, playing video games, and being an awesome father to his children.
Survivors include his two beautiful sons and several beautiful daughters; mother, Altovese Williams of Burlington; father, Phillip Jones of Flint, MI; maternal grandmother, Gloria Williams of Burlington; paternal grandmother, Mona Jones of Flint, MI; one sister, Totiana Williams, one half-sister; girlfriend, Sawaan Harris; and several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, maternal grandfather, Joe Williams Sr., and his brother, Phillip Dominique Jones.
Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday, October 16, 2017 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The Graveside Committal Service for Jones will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 16, 2017, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Supt. Mr. Fred Starling officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
