Robert Eugene Babb, 84, of Burlington, died at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2006, in Great River Medical Center, West Burlington. Born March 2, 1921 in Burlington, he was the son of Oliver E. and Florence J. Clampitt Babb. Mr. Babb was a 1939 graduate of Burlington High School and received his bachelor's of science degree in electronic engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology. He was a World War II Army veteran, and retired in 1978 as a Merchant Marine radio officer. Survivors include two brothers, Donald Babb of Burlington and Richard A. Babb of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Betty Babb of Burlington, Bonnie Wollam of Cantril, and Norma Dannenbring of Republic, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
