Frances Emma Johnson, 98, of Burlington, died at midnight Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born October 28, 1910, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Arthur LeRoy and Bessie Ann Bonar Danielson. On June 22, 1938, she married Raymond Dewey Johnson. He died December 15, 1984. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She was a Burlington High School graduate. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for years, was active in Ladies' Group, and belonged to the Elderberries. She was a member of AARP. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and paint by number. Survivors include one son, Roger Eugene Johnson of Bartlesville, OK; two grandchildren; one sister, Delores Ann Sonandres of Sun City, AZ; and one brother, Wayne A. Danielson of Austin, Texas. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. The grave- side funeral for Mrs. Johnson will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, with the Rev. Margaret Casper officiating. A memorial has been established for Messiah Lutheran Church. Lunning Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
