Pauline Sherrill Johnson, 85, of Burlington, died at 11:08 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born Aug. 31, 1915, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Lee Ross and Helga Anderson Sherrill. She married Hubert W. Johnson on May 15, 1940, in Burlington. He died Jan. 29, 1990. Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Burlington High School. She worked as a salesperson and in the office at J.S. Schramm Co. for more than 40 years. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Piecemaker Quilting Club, Mary Elizabeth Circle, St. Francis Auxiliary and many bridge groups. Survivors include one daughter, Susan Hoornstra of Burlington; two grand- children; one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; one sister, Ann Quinn of Stronghurst, Ill.; one niece; and one nephew. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today in Lunning Chapel. Thefamily will receive friends from 2 o 3 p.m. Sunday at Messiah Lutheran Church. The memorial funeral service for Mrs. Johnson will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Messiah Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Donald Hoornstra officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for her church.
