Carl Leonard Babb, 75, of 2501 Mt. Pleasant St., Burlington, died at 3:05 am Sunday, April 10, 1994, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Aug. 7, 1918, in Burlington, he was the son of Oliver Eugene and Florence Iona Clampitt Babb.
Mr. Babb was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served with the 223rd Combat Engineers in the Aleutian Islands.
He had been an auto mechanic at Zaiss Motor Sales for 40 years, retiring in 1983.
Survivors include three daughters, Anita L. Renteria of West Burlington, Carla J. Thomson of Burlington, and Luanne D. Pfeiff of Raleigh, N.C.: one son, Donald L. Babb of West Burlington; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five sisters, Dorothy Braun, Betty Babb, Donna Renner, and Norma Dannenbring, all of Burlington, and Bonnie Wollam of Pulaski, IA; And four brothers, Robert and Donald Babb, both of Burlington, Phillip Babb of San Leandro, CA, and Richard Babb of Fort Worth, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call after 12 pm today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm.
The funeral for Mr. Babb will be at 10:30 am Tuesday in Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
