Mary Lou "M.L." Johnson, 87, of Geneseo, IL, formerly of West Burlington, died on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at 12:08 p.m. at the Hammond-Henry County Hospital in Geneseo. Born on September 15, 1921, in Terre Haute, Illinois, she was the daughter of Clifford and Ada Peasley Ingram. She married Lloyd Johnson on February 22, 1948, in Burlington. He died on August 12, 1992. Mary was the Executive Secretary for the plant manager at IAAP for over 30 years. In addition to her full time job, she worked alongside her husband on the dairy farm, milking cows, bailing hay, driving tractors when needed, and tending a large garden. She was an accomplished seamstress and excellent cook, and passed those skills on to her daughters. As a secretary, she both typed and took shorthand at a blazing speed. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Elks Club. She and Lloyd enjoyed dancing and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her two daughters; Jana (Lynn) Williams of Annawan, IL, and Jill (Tim) Ryan of Kentwood, MI; six grandchildren, David Wheeler of Ft. Myers, FL, Andrea Glynn of Denver, CO, Michelle Glynn of Chicago, IL, Frankie Glynn of Kentwood, MI, Darren Williams, and Wendy Williams of Annawan, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd, and a brother Eugene Ingram.
